A recent video uploaded to YouTube has caught my attention earlier. The footage, captured over Waterloo, New York, shows a white 'tic-tac' shaped object at what appears to be the altitude of a plane (the camera pans towards an aircraft). The object seems to hover in the sky, its nature and origin uncertain.

Is it a Tic Tac UFO?
The object’s shape and behaviour in the sky bring to mind the infamous "Tic Tac" UFOs—so named for their oval shape reminiscent of the popular candy. These objects have been reported in several high-profile naval encounters, noted for their ability to hover and accelerate at incredible speeds.
Could it be lens flare?
The sceptic in me always considers the simplest explanation first. Lens flare, caused by a light source directly hitting the camera lens, could create the illusion of a mysterious object in the sky.
Is it a blimp?
While the possibility of a blimp would explain the hovering behaviour, the altitude and the object’s streamlined shape in the footage make this explanation less likely.
