My Top 5 Alien/UFO Movies
If you're looking to get stuck into a UFO/Alien-inspired movie then look no further. Here are my top 5 Alien/UFO movies I can't resist watching more than once.
Everybody is different, and everybody has different tastes in what makes a good "alien film". For me, I am not bothered about the whole "ALIENS" franchise of films, but much prefer the psychological approach to films that create the "what if?" moments when you're laying in bed looking at the stars.
Unlike other "top XX movies about Aliens/UFO's - I am going to be very vague in the description to prevent any spoilers.
1. Arrival
Arrival is a great movie, I've lost count of how many times I've watched it. The film/movie shows how crafts can come to Earth and we have dedicated teams all over the world trying to decrypt their language. It's definitely worth watching 2 or 3 times to get the full benefit.
I love how the movie captures the 'other side' of Aliens and how they are not a threat, but are there to bring the people of earth together.
2. Close Encounters of the Third Kind
Directed by Steven Spielburg, Close Encounters of the Third Kind follows the story of a man who starts to see visions that he can't explain. As the movie progresses, the man is drawn to an undisclosed location where amazing things start to happen.
sound/tonesI feel there is a hidden meaning to the movies, especially after what Dr Steven Greer has spoken about in terms of communication using sound / tones.
3. Fire in the Sky
Based on the true story of Travis Walton's abduction on November 5th, 1975. This movie recreates Travis's encounter from before, during and after the abduction.
I love the fact this is based on real events. To this day, Travis still believes he was abducted and passed many lie detectors.
4. Contact
I absolutely adore this movie. A radio astronomer (played by Jodie Foster) discovers a hidden message which potentially proves that life exists outside of our own Galaxy.
It mixes reality with the 'what if it happened' mentality. Too many films focus on the destruction of human civilisation, rather than than 'aliens are here to teach us' aspect.
5. Dark Skies
My absolute favourite UFO / Alien movie. It focuses on strange occurrences happening to an American Family. From birds flying into a house to lost time and implants. Dark Skies seems to mix Alien/UFOs with the Paranormal.
If I want 'goosebumps' feeling, Dark Skies is a must. The acting, the storyline, and the thoughts that occur after watching the movie tick all the boxes. I also really love that it feels like a bridge between GHOST <> UFO. Even my wife loves this film (she's very much into the Paranormal).
